Austin Eckroat's winning ways continue at World Wide Technology Championship moving inside OWGR Top 40 for the first time

News for the 9 Eligible Official World Golf Ranking Tournaments

PGA Tour - World Wide Technology Championship

Austin Eckroat made 11 birdies Sunday at the World Wide Technology Championship, calling it the best golf he’s ever played. It was only barely enough to win, but winning on the PGA TOUR for the second time this season means something special. Eckroat, who won the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches in March, started Sunday one shot back of the lead in Los Cabos, Mexico. He promptly went 8-under through his first 12 holes, en route to a closing 9-under 63 at El Cardonal at Diamante and a 24-under winning total. Justin Lower and Carson Young finished one stroke back. Lower shot 16-under on the weekend and still fell short by one.

DP World Tour - Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship

Paul Waring held off a stellar chasing pack to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. The 39-year-old Englishman had taken control of the event with a course-record 61 at Yas Links on Friday but saw his five-shot halfway lead reduced to one as he posted a 73 a day later. Waring had spoken of feeling jittery during his third round, but he displayed nerves of steel in a flawless closing 66. Race to Dubai leader Rory McIlroy, four-time Rolex Series winner Tyrrell Hatton and former Open Champion Shane Lowry were among those to turn up the heat on Waring during a thrilling final round.

Japan Golf Tour - Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters

Ryo Ishikawa endeared himself to the passionate crowd again as they gathered to witness another triumph by the once ‘Bashful Prince’ who clinched the Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters with a final round three-under-par 67 on Sunday. Even as he just turned 33, Ishikawa continues to be the darling of Japanese fans – just as he did at 15 when he broke into the scene by becoming the youngest winner on the JGTO in 2007 and earning the nickname “Bashful Prince” –given for his charm, good looks and youthful exuberance. The huge galleries at the Taiheiyo Club Gotemba Course gave him another rousing ovation as he outplayed Hideto Tanihara and Riki Kawamoto by one shot to capture his 20th JGTO title and his second victory this season with his winning total of 11-under-par 269.

Thailand’s Witchayapat Sinsrang produced an almost flawless round to snatch victory at the Ambassador ADT Open today, his low-round 68 and four-round total of 283 enough to beat fellow countryman Kosuke Hamamoto by a single shot. A bogey on the final hole was Witchayapat’s only dropped shot for the day, and despite a late birdie by playing partner Hamamoto (69) on the same hole, he had enough advantage to hold on for the win at the challenging Hsin Feng Country Club.
